ReplyDeletehe test was actually stressful for me. I want to say, that I was prepared for it, but it in reality, the due date came at me fast and it hit me hard. I wasn't prepared because I couldn't use my computer and finding the time to manage my test paper was difficult.Today's activities was fun, hearing the thesis of over people and other ways to write your essay.
ReplyDeleteBeing that I was part of the 99.9% of that class that was not prepared or started the assignment late I suggest to write all essays as soon as possible because it really interefed with my other assignments

DeleteI feel like I was well prepared for this first essay. I did not procrastinate and used every stage of the writing process. This class and the book helped me tremendously while writing this essay. I was able to start early and go over each stage from brainstorming, to outlining and my peer review. I am not the greatest at grammar so having one of my peer review my essay well ahead of time in order for me to edit was important for my success. I feel more confident in my writing then coming into this class.

Deletesame here, i finished my essay 2 weeks after it was received, so it wasnt really hard for me when it was time to turn it in.
DeleteThis test caused me a lot of stress. I was not prepared for it at all; I knew when it was due but I just kept putting it off until the night before and the day of. Next time, I will definitely do it maybe a week or two weeks before its done. I liked listening to all the different topics that were being presented today.

DeleteI know how you fee because I too procrastinated an thought I would be easy enough to do the night before. I was wrong I found myself panicking and running out of ideas for my topic. Now I know to start my essay at lest a week before the due date.

DeleteThe test wasn't very difficult, I used the five human senses to help me write this essay. Todays activities was quite interesting because we got to listen to what everybody wrote about. Knowing what your fellow classmates write about helps understand what they're about.

DeleteI thought that taking test 1was good because my topic was based off of experience which really helped in writing the essay. I think that i should have better prepared myself by writing more key points from my experience. I thought that today's activities were good because we got to hear from everyone what they learned and how they felt about the essay.

DeleteIt was a good experience on how to write a proper essay. Hopefully we gained more knowledge and learned from our mistakes so by the time test #2 comes we will be more prepared.
DeleteFor me, the difficult part of this essay was to not stray away from my topic because I might confuse the reader about what my essay is about. I was not prepared for this essay because I had to change my topic many times due to 'writer's block'. Next time, I will just do my essay ahead of time to be prepared. Today was a productive day with getting our essay together to turn in and presenting.
ReplyDeleteI agree that staying on topic is more difficult than it seems, once your on a roll it is very easy to go off with your train of thought. Doing it ahead of time is a good idea.

DeleteThis essay came as second nature to me, that is only because through out my senior year our main focus was on writing essays and constructing them according to the different styles. Going through stage 1 was a good refresher to getting back in the swing of writing a well constructed essay. A good tip is to do little by little of the essay from the time you receive the assignment so that you manage your time better. Plus it makes the writing an essay more enjoyable and stress free.

DeleteAt first the test did not seem all that difficult. However as the submission date grew closer, I found myself cramming to finish the essay. I did not give my full effort in writing, and I think it shows in my paper. Yet, I think I did okay. I found it easy writing about my topic because it is something that has greatly influenced my life. It was somewhat hard writing my thesis, but I found the transitioning easy. I felt relieved knowing that my classmates had similar problems, especially with procrastinating. Also, listening to their topics was interesting-- I learned a little bit of everyone's background. Next time, I will definitely put more time and thought into my writing.

DeleteUnfortunately procrastinating is usually the culprit when it comes to unfinished homework and assignments.
DeleteToday, we presented our essays. It was a great experience for me to present because I do not have much experience with presenting. It was great getting to know our classmates in the beginning of the year because I wasn't all that nervous when I was presenting. It was fun listening to other people presenting. I like the strategy our professor is using.

DeleteFor today's first essay test I think I was prepared for the completion of this assignment except for the printing part. I felt confidant about the topic I chose. Writing about the topic was a challenge for me with opening up, but over all I think i did pretty good. It was interesting listening to everyone's thesis about their topic. I thought that most were really on par with what their essay was about.
ReplyDeleteI'll give you an 8/10. My personal rule is to never give a 10/10, as it is a perfect score and a false notice that you can't do any better. Still, good to see you take the stand and to share what you can.

DeleteI learned lots of things from this essay. I think it was my first time to learn useful things that I can use when I write essays. I hardly learned English in high school because I had L.O.T.E classes for English. I was prepared for this first essay test because of what I have learned in this class such as brainstorming and outlining. I will take advantages of those strategies every time I write essays. I am so excited to write the next test-essay.

DeleteL.O.T.E. is Language other than English. English is a complicated language to learn. I hope you do well in this subject to achieve your college goals.

DeleteI learned so many things. All stages were first time to learn for me because I had L.O.T.E. classes ( language other than English) in high school. I need to learn more about writing essays because I reviewed my essay so many times, but there was still room for improvement. I think that my English is getting better day by day.
ReplyDeleteToday, we turned in our test #1 essay. I really liked taking this kind of test because there is not time limit and it allows us to take our time and gather more information about our topic. Going step by step on each stage really shows us how to write a great and strong essay. Getting to listen to the rest of the class present their essays really show how much we have learned in this class.

DeleteDescriptive essay turned in, two desks of two computers each lightly swifferfied along with that concrete divider, and now the blog. Need to make a note that the class is not just limited to silent, written and/or typed words.
ReplyDeleteInteresting subject today - cake. Might have to make some RC-Cake (Rice Cooker Cake) and bring it in for the class next week Monday.

DeleteI was not completely prepared for the first essay. I had a difficult time debating on what my topic of choice would be. I initially thought it would simple to put my thought into words, but I think due to my indecisiveness and the disorganization it really hindered. I also struggled to keep my essay in one tense. I found myself going back and forth between past and present tense. I know next time to make sure I am well organized and take the necessary measures to make sure I am better equipped.

DeleteI was not prepared as much than I thought. I take a lot of time to think through what I need to write down based on my topic. The next time to be prepare, I need to use my time wisely, don't waste it, remember the details carefully, and do not need to rush it. Today's activity was good, it made me remember the good times I experienced from the past.
ReplyDeleteWell, today I did not attend class but I am reading all the comments and blogs of everyone, and seems like class was alright. I read that everyone has heard some topics from our classmates. Wish I was there to hear them. I did not take the test yet, but I do feel prepared.
