  1. I find this resource very useful in writing. Sometimes, I make errors in using words or phrases in my writing and for sure make errors without even knowing it sometimes. After reading resource, I wish I knew about this website before. It would have been very useful with writing my past papers. Now, I can go to this website to see if the words and phrases I chose is relevant to the sentence I am writing.
Today, we learned about Definitions and did an activity where we had to identify the class and characateristic of a word given. We also did a common assignment essay for the second time. It was still challenging for me, but I think I did better this time than the first time I did it.

    2. I agree, looking back at the resource given would probably help us lessen the use of those common mistakes given. Especially since I commonly make those mistakes at times as well.

  2. I found this resource to be completely informative and beneficial for myself. I was able to relate to common mistakes and it gave me an open mind to the differences of words and phrases I was unaware about. The english language is a difficult language to fully understand in order to grammatically use it correctly but the resource was very informative in helping readers learn some common mistakes.
As for todays activities, I found them to be very interesting. I was able to understand the different meanings and definitions we all have or are aware of amongst the different words given. It was nice to know that we can relate different words in forms of experience or common knowledge. As well as the essay assignment we had to do, I found myself being able to jot down ideas in a faster way than before. It was easier to construct my essay since I learned and practiced so many different ways of writing throughout the term of the class.

  4. I found this resource to be very useful and informative for me. At times, I would have to remind myself the differences between the words then and than. For some reason, it was a common mistake that I would always make. Even up to now, I am sure that I still make these common mistakes especially when typing my essay. Sometimes, things tend to make more sense in my head than it does on paper.
Today's activities kind of flew by really quickly. We had went over exercises pertaining to definitions. We would give a word a meaning and list its characteristics. I thought it was pretty cool hearing what others described certain words. Lastly, we had another essay assignment. It was really odd for me because this time around I kind of felt stuck in the beginning. I think it was because I was trying to remember what I had written down the last time, but I love the exercises we are doing in class. It is preparing me for our final exam.

  6. I found the resource extremely useful because it contains a lot of enlightening information. I commonly misuse who/whom, so understanding the difference will hopefully be beneficial when I write my essays and speak in person. I thought today's activities were informative and valuable. I was able to learn and focus on definitions and the different characteristics contributed to a word. I personally think my first essay was a lot better than my second. 7. The site is very helpful and also acts as a reminder. Even now, I make silly mistakes especially with words closely-related with each other like already/all ready and affect/effect. It's a site that will surely come in handy future essays.

Maybe because we have seen the topic before but this timed essay was a lot easier to do. I was able to finish faster than before and was actually able to convey my thoughts into real sentences. Before I would just be stuck and not know what to say but now with the help of the different writing strategies, I improved.

  8. I found it very helpful because people tend to make easy mistakes spelling out words. When I saw alright and all right, I noticed that I have been one of those people using "alright" for everything.
